The movie explores themes of primal instincts, human darkness, and the unpredictable nature of the wilderness in a chilling and atmospheric tale.
There are some incredibly scary and screwed up moments that'll keep you on the edge of your seat with this film. The first has got to be the "wolf scene." This is one of the early encounters with the wolves. It's quite intense and sets the tone for the mysterious and dangerous atmosphere of that Hold the Dark is known for.
Another scene has to be the "village ritual." This is a ritualistic scene in the village that is both eerie and unsettling, adding to the overall sense of foreboding in the Hold the Dark narrative.

There are some rather grim and confronting scenes that you're faced with in Cadaver as the viewer. The first has got to be when the main characters come across the eerie theater and its mysterious performers. This sets a creepy tone and creates an atmosphere of unease that persists throughout the remainder of the film.

Thematically, The Silence is a fantastic exploration of human desperation and fanaticism.
