About Catherine Tramell (Basic Instinct Antagonist)
Catherine Tramell (played by Sharon Stone) is the beautiful blonde crime author from the 1992 thriller movie, Basic Instinct, who is as seductive as she is deadly. When her rockstar boyfriend, Johnny Boz, is murdered by a blonde woman who stabs him with an icepick - Catherine becomes the main suspect. However, as the film unfolds, she spends the majority of her time taunting the homicide detectives investigating the crime, and exposing herself to them.
As she's being investigated, homicide detective Nick Curran discovers that Catherine has a propensity for making friends with known murderers and criminals, not to mention having very intense sexual encounters with both men and women. Eventually Nick and Catherine begin a cat and mouse-like affair in which she's using him as the basis of a protagonist for her next novel.
Eventually, a series of events points away from Catherine as being the main suspect of Johnny Boz, despite all the deaths happening around Nick during his investigation. However, as the film comes to an end and as Nick and Catherine are having sex, it's revealed there is an icepick underneath Catherine's bed. Insinuating that Nick will be the next victim and, which tracks, as there's no sign of a Detective Nick Curran in the second Basic Instinct movie.
