SORDID ORDEAL release New Single:
Just eight months after dropping their debut album, Melbourne's Stout Rock powerhouses Sordid Ordeal are back with a vengeance. They've just unleashed Tigress, the first single from their highly anticipated second album, set to drop in early 2025.
Tigress cranks up the grit, delivering the band's bluesiest track yet. A stripped-back, high-octane road-trip anthem, the song strips away the excess, letting razor-sharp guitars and thundering drums dominate the soundscape.
The track tells the story of Alastríona, a woman raised in conservative, rural New South Wales where societal expectations for women are clear—settle down, marry, and raise a family. But Alastríona breaks free, heading to 80s Sydney to dive headfirst into the cultural explosion of her generation, embracing art, music, and sexual freedom. In the bustling metropolis, she finds independence, builds a career, and shapes her life on her own terms.
Tigress is Sordid Ordeal's boldest statement yet, signaling their rise from local legends to interstate Stout Rock contenders. The track—and its accompanying video—cements their place on the scene, marking their return with an unapologetic roar.

About Sordid Ordeal
Sordid Ordeal are an unstoppable rock juggernaut hailing from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia), a driving force in the Stout Rock scene. Blending folk-inspired storytelling with gritty, unapologetic rock, their sound is a thunderous fusion of raw, heavy riffs and intimate balladry. This sonic collision creates an electrifying mix of rebellion and hedonism, making Sordid Ordeal a band that refuses to be ignored.
Their journey kicked off with the release of Great Ocean Road in early 2020—just as Australia was hit with Covid lockdowns. The title track became an anthem for the times, a go-to for those itching for a road trip while stuck at home.
In February 2024, Sordid Ordeal dropped their debut album When I Left Town, which smashed its way to #8 on the Australian Independent Record charts. The album launch in Melbourne saw a sold-out crowd, with the record earning praise from Triple M Radio, Heavy Mag, and a slew of other outlets.
Now, the band is gearing up for their next chapter with the release of their second album Nothing Was The Same Again, slated to hit in 2025. Buckle up—Sordid Ordeal is just getting started.
