I'M NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TODAY:
Australian Organisers of the annual Slipknot-themed Heavy Metal Festival have put in place a bold new strategy to Increase Last Minute Ticket Sales to the Sydney Show of this year's Knotfest.
After an already bold move of refusing to add Slipknot to the bill of the Slipknot-inspired Heavy Metal Festival, Organisers have secured the original sign from Kevin Smith's iconic cult-film, Clerks, from the jorts ambassador himself, in a bid to drum up last minute Ticket Sales to the Knotfest Sydney Show.
It seems there is no end to the Celebrity contacts that Destroy All Lines brass have access to.
The ratty-looking and barely holding itself together 'I ASSURE YOU WE'RE OPEN' sign was flown in from The States and delivered to the Festival Organisers Destroy All Lines under armed guard, can be seen just outside the Paddington Gates entrance on the corner of Lang Road and Oxford Street (photographed below).
While it's unclear if the installation of this View Askew sign will result in additional ticket sales or if it's just another stroke of Destroy All Lines promotional genius, it certainly is working in favour of Waverley Council.
Many pedestrians have been spotted posing with the sign in question, leading to Councillor Michelle Gray issuing a statement:
"This is a fantastic idea. I really hope it's working in favour of the Knotfest Festival Organisers. It's a site to behold when a sea of black t-shirts and tattoos descend upon the sunny Eastern Suburbs. Western Suburbs Metal-heads heading out for some fun in the sun? I love diversity.
"This quarter, I'm really trying to promote any exposure of this little park of ours. Any initiative that helps promote our Centennial Park is a good initiative to me."
When asked if she'll be attending the Festival, which boasts headliners Pantera as part of the lineup, Councillor Gray added:
"I hope there's another Knotfest next year. We really need to support local and emerging talent."
More on this developing story soon.
