The Hu says "Up the Irons":
With over 830 million streams to their name, chart-topping albums, sold-out headlining tours across the globe, and festival appearances that have made waves worldwide, THE HU has become a force to be reckoned with. Their innovative blend of Mongolian throat singing and heavy rock—dubbed ‘Hunnu Rock’—has catapulted them onto the global stage, earning nods from top officials and collaborations with some of the biggest names in rock.
Now, THE HU is set to bring their one-of-a-kind, immersive live performance to North America as they team up with metal legends Iron Maiden on the “Future Past” tour. To celebrate, THE HU has released a blistering cover of one of Maiden’s iconic tracks, "The Trooper," putting their signature Mongolian twist on the classic.
GALA, founding member, lead throat singer, and Morin Khuur master, shared the band's excitement:
“We’re beyond thrilled to join Iron Maiden on their Future Past Tour in North America. This tour marks a monumental moment not just for THE HU, but for Mongolian music on the world stage. As fans of Maiden, we wanted to show our respect by covering ‘The Trooper,’ and we’re excited to share it with you ahead of this epic journey!”
Earlier this year, THE HU unleashed THE HU LIVE AT GLASTONBURY, a powerful live recording of their groundbreaking debut performance at the iconic Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, UK. Released via Better Noise Music, the album features fan-favorite tracks from their 2019 breakout The Gereg, which dominated the charts at #1 on the World Album and Top New Artist lists, along with thunderous cuts from their 2022 follow-up, Rumble Of Thunder.
THE HU’s unique brand of Hunnu Rock has earned them critical acclaim from heavyweights like Billboard, NPR, GQ, The Guardian, The Independent, and even a shoutout from Sir Elton John himself. Their growing legacy also includes high-profile collaborations with rock icons like Serj Tankian (System of a Down), William Duvall (Alice In Chains), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), and DL (Bad Wolves).
But THE HU doesn’t stop there. They’ve taken their sound beyond the stage and into pop culture, recording music for EA Games' Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and landing a spot on its official soundtrack. Their sound also hit the big screen, with a feature on the soundtrack of the horror-thriller The Retaliators - and even an appearance in the film itself.
