Thundercats #11 Review:

With Tygra and Cheetara finally being honest about their feelings, Lion-O is being left to his thoughts as he searches the Pyramid and an evil hidden power that calls to him. What follows is an epic confrontation with Munn-Ra of biblical proportions. When the dark lord is unable to use Lion-O’s powers against him he taps into the arcane magic of the pyramid super charging and transforming him into an immense behemoth of his former self.

Writer Declan Shalvey does an incredible job at tapping into the heart of the original Thundercats cartoon. Emerging with a mature comic book issue depicting a dark world filled with dangers and magic suitably sinister, thanks to Drew Moss. But it’s the coloring of Martina Pignerdali’s which is the absolute soul of this release. The combination of the three ignites into a powerful and captivating comic book issue worthy of the better remnants of your childhood.

Best Scenes in Thundercats #11

  • Tygra and Cheetah finally admitting their feelings for one another is a key scene in this comic book issue. It’s brimming with passion which, at times, feels a little awkward to watch.

  • Lion-O and Munn-Ra facing off is an epic showdown of Good vs Evil. In which Munn-Ra comes across as an evil wizard that will do anything to win the battle. Even switching his strategy a couple of times til he decides to retreat and summon forth the magic of his Black Pyramid.

Biggest Let-Downs of Thundercats #11

  • Because a vast majority of the issue centers around Lion-O and Munn-Ra’s battle there is very little opportunity to explore the other members of the team.
